Fallopia baldschuanica

Native of Asia. An extremely vigorous, deciduous, woody-stemmed, climbing vine. Leaves are heart-shaped, glossy, 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" long, 3/4" to 1" wide. Blooms are hanging panicles with white flowers.

Comments

Prune back hard in late winter for new spring growth.  Very vigorous vines can quickly cover a trellis.  Can also be used as a ground cover for erosion control on steep banks.
