View Our Full List of Grasses
Being backlit by the sunset, their graceful movement in the wind, or their mid-summer plumes, Native Grasses are essential to any landscape. They instantly add color, contrast and texture to any environment. Native Grasses can be evergreen, semi-evergreen, or herbaceous. All have basal leaves and rounded flower stems that bear alternate, long narrow leaves. Flowers (Plumes) are bisexual and are arranged in panicles, racemes, or spikes. They are tolerant of a wide range of soils and conditions, including drought.
With the cooler weather of autumn, native grasses tend to look their best turning from green into shades of tan, yellow, and orange-red. They can be used as an effective hedge or as a specimen and they work well in patio containers. We have a nice variety of native grasses to choose from throughout the year, from the small, clumping Blue Fescue to the very large, evergreen Pampas Grass. Miscanthus, Regal Mist, and Stipa are a few other varieties that are very popular for this region.
Sizes we have available are #1s and #5s.
