Native to Japan. Not a fern or a palm, these evergreen plants are relatives of conifers. Sagos (Cycads) are a group of plants that are very primative in their orgins. It is often stated that they have changed very little since the days of the dinosaurs. A rosette of dark green, feathery leaves grow from a central point at the top of a single trunk. Leaves are 2' to 3' long and divided into many narrow leaflets. Great for patio containers. Very slow growth rate.
