Tecoma stans v. angustata

Native to Arizona and West Texas. A deciduous shrub with an erect, irregular growth habit. Leaves are green, opposite, compound, elliptic-lanceolate, 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" long, 1/4" to 1/2" wide, 5-13 leaflets. Produces bright yellow blooms from late spring through autumn. Followed by long, narrow, brown seed pods. A very showy shrub for this region with a fast growth rate. Prune back hard in late winter, early spring to generate new growth. Very drought tolerant.
