Hibiscus Syriacus

Native of China and India. A densely branched, upright, deciduous shrub. Leaves are medium green, alternate, simple, 3-lobed, ovate or rhombic-ovate, coarsely toothed, 2" to 4" long. Bears very large trumpet-shaped flowers all summer. Followed by a 5-valved, brown capsule which persists through winter. Makes an excellent screen or hedge. Tough and resilient, gives a tropical look that is drought tolerant and cold hardy.
