Encelia farinosa

Native to southwestern U.S. and Mexico. A rounded, compact, stiff branched shrub. Leaves are broadly ovate-lanceolate, whitened and densely covered with short, crooked hairs, 3 1/2" long. Stalks of flower clusters arise from leafy part of the plant. A very conspicuous shrub of the southwest desert.
