Canary Island Date Palm

Description
Botanical Name:
Phoenix canariensis

Native to the Canary Islands. A large heavy-trunked plant with many deep green, arching fronds that form a crown. Grows slowly until it forms a trunk, then speeds up a bit. As it matures the trunk resembles a pineapple. Not recommended for small areas because of its eventual size.
